Jane Faase Creates

Having followed Jane on Instagram for some time I am always in awe of her gel printing techniques and knew I wanted to enrol for this course as I find image transfer a tricky technique. What an absolutely fantastic course. Covering everything you could possibly need for successful image transfers including photo editing- to ensure you have a great image and laser printing requirements to ensure you have a great print. Jane is so engaging and easy to listen to and breaks things down so it is easy to follow. I have thoroughly enjoyed the course and can’t wait to practice. Thank you so much Jane for all the time and effort that you have invested in this course. I thought it would be good but it has exceeded all my expectations! I also loved the bonus unit at the end. It was fascinating to watch Jane build up a beautiful collage and has really inspired me. I would recommend anyone interested in Laser Image Transfer to sign up for this course. It’s outstanding!

As life goes, it took me awhile to get through the course, and at that I did not find the time to do all the tasks assigned; that I can return to it time and time again is a comfort. I signed up for this course because I was VERY frustrated with the image transfer process even though I had watched MANY tutorials on You Tube. Jane's instructions are very precise as she demonstrates the Goldilocks of procedures, too much paint, too little, just right. The lead up to that module, "Photo Editing", also addressed an area that was shrouded in mystery. She is very professional in this area as she adresses the matter of copyright infringement straight up and encourages the use of one's own photos. The cost of the workshop was worth it for these two aspects alone. Her presentation style is calm and laid back, and one feels as though you are there in her studio having a cup of tea, watching an expert at work - the charming Australian accent is an added bonus (says the Canuck who thinks the Canadian accent isn't charming). I remain a little confused in the area of how to successfully communicate my printing needs at the print shop. This is not to say that her advice was in some way inadequate, I simply feel she cannot know/predict/anticipate the modus operandi followed by every print shop. For instance, I had to do my order online, and upload photos. The miscommunication might have been avoided had I had an actual conversation with them, and then returned home to upload following their exact advice. I was quite surprised at how the printer interpreted my instructions (which were crystal clear to my mind), and surprised at the paper on which they were printed. Much later, when Jane pulls out her stash of prints of her travel pics, she specifies the paper type (200 gsm silk or satin), and I think that might be what I received. The transfers worked well, although not perfectly, as I had not yet watched that specific module. Lesson learned. I look forward to putting all into practice - whenever life settles down. I have been struggling to learn how to do image transfers on the gelli plate for months! I have watched several YouTube videos and still wasn’t successful. This class has taught me so much and I finally learned how to do it! I was even more excited when I was able to print some of the photos from my summer trip to Europe with success. Jane does an awesome job of explaining and the class is thorough. She leaves nothing out! This is a must purchase for anyone trying to master the gelli plate! I highly recommend it!

I thoroughly enjoyed Jane’s course, from beginning to end! I have a fair amount of gel printing experience but my image transfers were always hit and miss. I feel confident that I can successfully transfer an image based on the information provided. This course is a MUST for anyone hoping for success at photo image transfer! I struggled with this for over a year, watching endless how to videos, before finding this course by Jane Faase. WOW what a game changer! She walks you through the critical steps of creating the best photo, what to look for in getting it printed and the exact application of paint on the plate. It opened up a whole new world of creativity for me! worth every dime! Go for it and enjoy!

Jane explained many facets of gel printing in a detailed and organized manner. Her knowledge of laser image transfer is by far the best out there! I highly recommend this course if you are interested in unraveling the mysterious code of laser image transfer!
