I have been using the geli plate for a while but i wasn't able to use my pictures successfully until now. I followed Jane steps and... voila. I cannot recommend this course enough. The layout, the pdf, the module, everything has been thought carefully. The more I watch the lessons, the more time I spend practicing all her techniques. They are so useful not only for a travel journal but for journalling as well. It is worth it! I wish there was a more in depth module on typography and even another one on style guides. Another important thing is that English is not my first language and yet Jane doesn't have a strong accent and she doesn't speak fast so she cant be easily understood. The best of the best!

As life goes, it took me awhile to get through the course, and at that I did not find the time to do all the tasks assigned; that I can return to it time and time again is a comfort. I signed up for this course because I was VERY frustrated with the image transfer process even though I had watched MANY tutorials on You Tube. Jane's instructions are very precise as she demonstrates the Goldilocks of procedures, too much paint, too little, just right. The lead up to that module, "Photo Editing", also addressed an area that was shrouded in mystery. She is very professional in this area as she adresses the matter of copyright infringement straight up and encourages the use of one's own photos. The cost of the workshop was worth it for these two aspects alone. Her presentation style is calm and laid back, and one feels as though you are there in her studio having a cup of tea, watching an expert at work - the charming Australian accent is an added bonus (says the Canuck who thinks the Canadian accent isn't charming). I remain a little confused in the area of how to successfully communicate my printing needs at the print shop. This is not to say that her advice was in some way inadequate, I simply feel she cannot know/predict/anticipate the modus operandi followed by every print shop. For instance, I had to do my order online, and upload photos. The miscommunication might have been avoided had I had an actual conversation with them, and then returned home to upload following their exact advice. I was quite surprised at how the printer interpreted my instructions (which were crystal clear to my mind), and surprised at the paper on which they were printed. Much later, when Jane pulls out her stash of prints of her travel pics, she specifies the paper type (200 gsm silk or satin), and I think that might be what I received. The transfers worked well, although not perfectly, as I had not yet watched that specific module. Lesson learned. I look forward to putting all into practice - whenever life settles down. Thank you, Jane, for sharing your knowledge and experience with us.

This course has ‚leveled‘ me to the point where I can finally do my own laserprint transfers. I have been experimenting for 2 months but despite working in the graphic business for over 30 years didn‘t provide good enough results. What helped me most were the prints. I learned that they were rgb files and I discovered, that it works much better for me on the 8/10 plate than on the 5/7. Somehow the strokes of my hands seem to be more even and softer on the bigger plate. Strange, right? Your prints proved that my own prints and the printers available here work fine, that I have to adapt 1. the file format and 2. my procedure. Thank you Jane for this wholesome course with lots of bonus material and easy to understand and follow lessons. Improvement? 🤔 I didn‘t quite get your decisions in the collage. Why did you hide the spots you had defined as festures before, or why did you leave a white rectangular in the center while reworking some edges? But that is really complaining on a high level as we say. Tell me if you wanted to come to Switzerland. I‘d love to show you a bit of my medeaval gems.😉

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Each module was thorough, informative and inspirational. I have been printing for many years and had my reservations of how much I would learn. I couldn’t have been more wrong! There was lots to learn and an alternative insight in each module. I would definitely recommend this course.
